Information NetSward handles
Depending on the features you use, NetSward may display and store interface names and counters, path state, gateways, DNS configuration, throughput samples, Wi-Fi SSIDs and BSSIDs, channels, signal measurements, LAN neighbor addresses and MAC addresses, vendor labels, device names, Bonjour service endpoints, diagnostic results, alerts, survey notes and coordinates, map checkpoints, floorplans, reports, imported case documents, and user-confirmed network policies. These data are used to provide monitoring, surveys, diagnostics, history, widgets, reports, and user-requested support workflows.
On iPhone and iPad, detailed evidence and history are kept in private app storage. Widgets and read-only Shortcuts receive only a bounded, privacy-filtered projection in the shared App Group: source and capture provenance, saved health, at most eight anonymized interfaces, SSID plus security, and up to 20 generic alerts. The projection omits BSSID, channel, PHY and signal values, coordinates, detailed evidence, reports, and history. Core Spotlight receives similarly redacted titles and descriptions; free-form case notes are not copied into search metadata.
Permissions
macOS may request Location to reveal current Wi-Fi identity and record survey locations. Local Network enables Bonjour discovery of selected local services and a paired Mac. Notifications are used only for alert rules and user actions. File access is limited to files you explicitly choose to import or export. The macOS widget and menu-bar features use the app's shared container for the bounded projection described above.
iPhone and iPad may request Location When In Use for the current Wi-Fi name/BSSID and survey checkpoints, Local Network for Bonjour discovery and pairing, and Camera only when you choose to scan a pairing QR code. iOS also requires Apple's Access Wi-Fi Information entitlement before it may reveal current Wi-Fi details. On supported iOS releases, Network Topology Observation reads the system's already-observed neighbor cache; it is not an active subnet scan. Denied permissions produce an unavailable state rather than a fabricated network or zero-valued measurement.
Retention and deletion
Storage is bounded locally. macOS traffic history is limited to 10,080 points per interface and other collections have explicit limits. Mobile history applies per-source limits, including up to 200 diagnostics retained for up to 90 days, 2,000 survey checkpoints for up to one year, and 1,008 snapshots for up to 30 days. Named surveys, Bonjour sessions, HTTPS timings, and saved targets have separate caps. These are maximums, not promises that every record is kept for the full period.
The macOS Privacy & Data screen clears local telemetry, alerts, policies, survey sessions, floorplans and map caches, paired-device credentials, paired diagnostics, and related private stores. The mobile Privacy & Support screen clears local history, diagnostics, saved targets, imported cases, widget projections, cached Mac evidence, Spotlight entries, and this device's pairing keys. Clearing one device does not erase Mac-side trust, files exported elsewhere, or an Apple App Store purchase. Failed credential or file deletion is reported and remains retryable rather than being presented as complete.
Location and map services
OpenStreetMap building lookup is disabled by default on macOS. If you explicitly enable it, the visible map region is sent to the selected Overpass endpoint to request building geometry. NetSward does not send Wi-Fi passwords, saved survey history, report history, or stored Wi-Fi scan records to OpenStreetMap or Overpass. The map displays OpenStreetMap attribution. The endpoint's current terms, rate limits, and service policies apply.
On a foreground path refresh, the mobile app may make one bounded DNS A-record query for apple.com through the resolver configured for that device. It does not contact a NetSward-operated DNS service, and the resolver result is ephemeral: it is not copied into widgets, reports, cases, or retained diagnostic history.
Paired Mac transfer
Pairing is optional and local-network only. A short-lived invitation is verified against the Mac node ID, public-key fingerprint, and expiration before trust is established. After pairing, evidence is exchanged directly between your devices over an authenticated, encrypted session; NetSward has no cloud relay or developer-operated sync service. The Mac controls its sharing policy, capabilities, remote changes, and sensitive/full-evidence settings. A mobile cache or iPhone/iPad purchase never authorizes a Mac command. The Mac independently verifies the one-time Pro purchase with Apple and sends only a short-lived session-bound authorization hint.
Widgets, Shortcuts, and Apple Intelligence
Widgets and background App Intents read saved, aging, or offline projections. They do not continuously monitor, reconnect to a Mac, scan Wi-Fi, or run diagnostics. Foreground Shortcuts can open NetSward for your review and confirmation. Apple system services such as WidgetKit, Shortcuts, notifications, Core Spotlight, and StoreKit remain governed by Apple's system settings.
On supported macOS versions, NetSward may offer optional, user-initiated explanations using Apple's on-device Foundation Model (Apple Intelligence). Before a prompt is built, NetSward keeps only bounded categories, controlled confidence values, and non-identifying numeric or enum measurements; SSIDs, BSSIDs, MAC addresses, IP addresses, hostnames, coordinates, endpoints, device names, notes, and unknown fields are omitted. The model cannot change network policy, run commands, or authorize a paired Mac. If Apple Intelligence is unavailable, NetSward uses deterministic diagnostics or states that the recorded evidence does not support a conclusion.
Purchases, sharing, and support
NetSward Pro is a non-consumable Universal Purchase processed by Apple through the App Store. NetSward verifies the entitlement locally on each Apple device; LDM Co LLC does not receive or store your full payment-card details. Exports default to redacting SSIDs, BSSIDs, MAC addresses, IP addresses, endpoints, device names, and coordinates. Review any report before saving, sharing, or emailing it. If you contact support, LDM Co LLC uses the information you choose to send only to respond and troubleshoot; remove private network names or addresses you do not want to disclose.

Processing grounds and your rights
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we process information necessary to provide an agreed service under our contract with you. We rely on our legitimate interests to answer ordinary inquiries and operate secure services, subject to your rights; on legal obligations where they require processing; and on consent where required for optional processing.
Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or portability; object to processing based on legitimate interests; and withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing. Under Brazil’s LGPD, applicable rights also include confirmation of processing, information about sharing, and anonymization, blocking, or deletion of unnecessary, excessive, or unlawfully processed data.
We verify identity only as reasonably necessary and respond within the applicable legal period. We explain any lawful refusal or extension. You may complain to your EU supervisory authority, the UK Information Commissioner’s Office, Brazil’s ANPD, or another competent authority. Contacting us first is not required where the law permits a direct complaint.
These rights concern information within our control. For records stored only on your device or in your own cloud account, use the app or provider’s controls; we cannot retrieve a private archive we do not hold.
